Recycling Service

Independent Disposal Services offers every other week single-stream recyclable pickup for residents in:

New Castle County, DE and
certain areas of Cecil County, MD

We provide a wheeled 95 or 65 gallon container for all of the recyclables.

Please have your recyclables out the night before your scheduled pickup.

We also have commercial and rolloff containers for recyclable or cardboard pickup. Call our office to get a customized service solution.

Kent County and Sussex County Delaware residents who participate in the Delaware Solid Waste Authority recycling program can receive a $2.00 credit per month. Contact the DSWA to join the program, 1-800-404-7080 or go to www.dswa.com

 

Electronic Goods Recycling is available in Delaware. Go to www.dswa.com for a list of drop-off locations.  Acceptable electronic goods for Recycling:

Computers, monitors, terminals, printers, keyboards, mice, cables, copy equipment, electronic typewriter, calculators, telephones, telex, fax machines, answering machines, radios, televisions, video cameras/recorders, amplifiers, VCRs, cassette players, record players, electronic toys.

 

Household Hazardous Waste collection is available in Delaware. Go to www.dswa.com for a collection events schedule.  The following items can be brought to a collection event:

Full aerosol cans, bleach, chemistry kits, nail polish, polish removers, perfumes, disinfectants, drain cleaners, floor wax, mercury thermometers, moth balls, oven cleaner, smoke detectors, spot remover, toilet cleaner, fluorescent light bulbs, prescription medications, used syringes, ammunition, firecrackers, gunpowder, corrosives, paints (other than latex), small compressed-gas cylinders, solvents, stains, strippers, thinners, varnish, wood preservatives, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, pool chemicals antifreeze, auto batteries, degreasers, waste fuels-gasoline, kerosene, used motor oil mixed with other fuels.
